All our host families are carefully selected. Every family is visited to make sure the accommodation is suitable before any students are placed to stay with them.

Each family is given guidelines as to what is expected from them to become a host family. Most of our host families are very experienced and have been hosting students for many years. They come from all walks of life but have one thing in common; they are caring and enjoy welcoming people from overseas into their homes.

There are two different types of host family accommodation for students and adults.

Full Board 3 meals a day

This is usually breakfast, packed lunch and an evening meal.

Some groups want a double packed lunch if they have a long day trip instead of an evening meal making their day more flexible.

Half Board 2 meals a day

This is usually breakfast, and an evening meal.
Some groups want a packed lunch if they have a long day trip instead of an evening meal making their day more flexible.

Groups are placed in various parts of the town. They are normally within ten/fifteen minutes walking distance of their coach pick up/ drop off points. The pick up/ drop of points are clearly marked on the C.A.T.S. Eastbourne street maps using alphabetical letters. These maps are given on arrival. The letters being used by your group will be marked on your rooming lists that you will receive before your trip.

Adult accommodation

In addition to Host Family accommodation, for our teachers, leaders and drivers, we offer B & B accommodation in local Guest Houses and Hotels. We use various hotels and guesthouses around the town, at affordable prices. Most of our hotels and guesthouses are within walking distance of the promenade, the pier or Eastbourne’s town centre. Many of our returnee groups choose their hotel but this always depends on availability. Some groups may be split into more than one hotel if groups are large and require single rooms.
